just seen the griffen fish at kewalos today

I was surfing and seen some guy with a fish that had five fins on it, I started talking to him about it and he said that he was testing the board out and it was a griffen with his new fins. The board and fins looked really fun and took some nice turns. He posted it here before and something about testing them out, wish I could get a hold of one. Heres a link to the boards http://www.swaylocks.com/resources/detail_page.cgi?ID=1300 the one Ive seen was the one with the black and white logo

Aloha greeneboards

Greg Griffen regularily haunts this forum. I just talked to him on the phone today about it.

Everyone needs to bug him about posting here and sharing some of his ideas on design. Greg is quite possibly the best longboard shaper in Hawaii and is a very calculated designer that doesn’t leave much to chance.

He would be a great asset to this forum

(Howz that for some great ass kissing Greg!!) HA!

An older guy I surf with has been surfing one of his 5 fins for almost a couple of years now…

It’s a Local Motion big boy model and he loves it.

Says it improves turns off the top maybe kind of like the Campbell 5-fin bonzers .

But like Bill says Greg’s been around awhile and knows his stuff like Steve Wilson, Mike Casey, Jay Richardson, Jeff Johnson and a bunch of others that have been plugging along behind the scenes for local shops here.

I’ve noticed alot of good underground guys riding his longboards lately…

Ive seen alot of his boards around, infact one of my friends has a longboard of his, but I really like the concept of that fish. I was thinking of making similar to that about 5 months ago, but a regular short board. Not to ride as a 5 fin though, but to have options to ride as a quad, thruster, or twinnie.
