Just What the World Needs , Another Garage Built Fish.

Finally finished - havn’t ridden it yet. I monopolized the garage for a month , my wife is a very patient woman.

6’6 x 21 1/2 , I’m slowly working my way down  in size and volume …

Influenced by Zamora , Griffin , Brom and all the other great performance fish builders out there.

Each time the glassing goes a bit better , although I nearly got caught again.

My first cutlap ( just for experience ) and I applied some other Sways tricks like basting the lap when I hotcoated.

Still lots of zits and hickies but water doesn’t care !

I gave it some vee in the nose , concave throgh the mid , vee and double concave out the tail.

A pewter n paua (NZ abalone) fish the wife made for me.

Cheers Swaylocks !

looks real nice bro I like the legrope loop

antony

Nice work, brother… pretty sexed up version of a fish. I definately see Griffin’s influence. Rocker looks blazing fast. Tint came out nice. Leash loop is a great touch. Make sure you give us ride reports!

Playing with the fins could be fun, too. I’d try a set of thos MR twins…

Nice board.

I'm using the same fins on a 5'6" fish and they go really well.

The board looks good in the pics.  It will definitely surf.

Very nice work man, especially on the tail.  Love the leash loop, too.  Looks like your wife is pretty talented as well!

I’ve got one like that in my  own garage but the outline isn’t nearly that smooth, I dig the rocker.  Hoping to try those MR fins too.

Cheers guys .

It’s funny , the leash loop is the thing I’m probably the most embarrassed about - I had success with my previous two fish but tried a different method this time and I’m not very pleased with the outcome. If I can be bothered I’ll grind it off and redo it or put a deck plug in - I wanted to avoid that , never done it before.

As for fins I’ve got some Rasta style keels I want to try , then I’ve made a couple of sets of Superchargers  I’ll have a go with , then I think I’ll try putting on some winglets.

So much stuff to try , so little time !

B A N A N A S ! ! !

There can never be enough garage fish build threads.  Yours is very Beattyish and looks really nice.  Well done. Mike
