Kauai Board Rentals / Buy

I am traveling to Kauai later this month and am looking to rent or if I find somthing I really like, buy a board to surf there.  I am staying in Kapaa but plan on going to the north shore if there is some swell.

Does anyone recommend anyone to talk to about nice boards or decent rental boards?

Thanks!

Cool!  We are staying at the Outrigger Lae Nani condos.

We are going to be there the week after next for a few days - will stop by the shop and say hi.

I have been making and riding wide boards (21-23") that range from 5’10" to 7’6" with low rocker, etc.  But that suits our waves pretty well (Gulf Coast).  I have a beauty of a HWS quad I am working on (5’10" x 2 1/2" x 24" in white cedar) it will not be done in the next couple weeks, though…  It is the current evolution of what I think I like.  :)

Good luck in your board building marathon!

Howzit dasid, You will be staying down the road from Ambrose and he is the man with more boards than any body on Kauai. Call him when you get to Kauai and he will take care of you for boards. Aloha,Kokua

Howzit da6id,The Lai Nani condos are some of the nicest high rent condos on Kauai and right on the ocean and there is actually surf right in front of the Kaiuai Sands that is next to Lai Nani. My brother used to stay there and wanted to buy one and retire but things didn't work out the way he wanted. There will be surf on the North Shore but behave yourself and be respectful and you will be OK. Aloha,Kokua
