Kauai get-together

Aloha,

Looking forward to meeting those of you who plan to visit Kauai for the upcoming Swaynami fest. As I live on Kauai, I am open to helping in any way I can to ensure that you feel the aloha. Send me a message by PM if you want. I don’t usually log on on weekends, so forgive if my response is delayed.

thanks tiktokman - that’s a nice offer. We can always use more help. We’re working on the raffle (prizes, logistics & ticket sales), posters, cookout, surf-off, camping & accomodations for visitors - plenty to do. Looking forward to meeting you…

aloha,

Keith

Aloha all!!! Howzit?!? I’ve been following all the excitement about the upcoming Sway-gig. Personally, it all sounds like a whole lot of busy-ness, with all the fun activities planned for what seems like just about everywhere on the Island. After being blessed to have had the chance to dwell here for many years (never enough), the main thing I can think of is how a big percentage of visitors come over and hurry, hurry, hurry, to enjoy their visit and then leave. Every day here, we’re faced with an increasingly fast pace of life that is of a predominately imported nature. I would whole-heartedly recommend that most of all, you all would come over, take your shoes off, and try to slow down, relax, and enjoy your visit. A little slower pace, and you might be able to get a taste of the true flavor of this beautiful place. Not to be some kind of spoilsport, but come on- relax! Aloha…RH

Howzit Rick - good point. Hopefully all (or at least most) of the busy work will be out of the way by the time this happens. It is a fair amount of stuff but the whole idea was to try to raise some money for folks who need help, and that takes more effort than it may sound like… otherwise I for one will be extremely happy to just lay in the sand, play guitars, have a plate lunch & drink beer (between surfs of course!)

Here’s to relaxing! Hope you plan to swing by and show us how! aloha,

Keith

PS Rick, my wife has one of your boards, we bought it at Ambrose’s years back… she likes it a lot!

All: Has every car rental company in Lihue, Kauai discontinued the light truck category? The closest I can find is a mini van or full size SUV (ugh). It was so convenient to just throw the boards in the back.

Howzit Greg, Try a PM to hobcawanie about that since she has the connections, in the mean time I will make a few calls and check it out for you. I know the last time my FCS rep was here he had a rented truck. Also I believe Keith is planning on renting a good sized van so more people can ride with him. Can't wait to see you again and just got the word that the Long Board contest is happening on the weekend of the 16th/17th of April.Aloha, Kokua

Don’t sweat it WD! I ended up getting a mini van which seats 7 so let me know if you or anyone else needs a lift. I’ll be staying in Anahola (it’s not pocho man o war season is it?) 4/21 - 4/24. See you then!
