kelp / keel fin

Got it at a garage sale. Base 8.5", overall length 11.25", height or depth depending on how you look at things 5.5" (not counting finbox insert). Control Fins, Venice, CA. Intended to be a sailboard or surfboard fin?  Anyone know any more?

Can't figure out how to get the pic to show.

yep , here too !

...but the clubbie ones here are really thick . The single keel that 'Zosurf' sent me , is foiled nice and thin  .

cheers !

hi pc !

Zosurf' here sent me an almost identical one , a few years ago now . Ross ['P-Co' here] has it now .

A single keel , it needed a long finbox to fit in . Luckily the 9'4 cooloola has one , so it mainly got ridden in that .

Which was / is handy , as here in summer , it gets SO shallow that a conventional fin scrapes on the sandbar at times !

it felt great when up near the nose [me , not the fin] , I remember .

it feels like iceskates compared to a wide skateboard , is the other thing I remember , but once you get used to the feel ...fun fun fun !!

 enjoy , mate !

  cheers

ive seen some paddle boards with a fin on it like the one you have

Hi Peter -

I've seen them on rescue/paddleboards too... the big yellow ones with a slot in the rail to hold on to them.  I think Becker used to make them for the lifeguard crews.
