heard this five hundred times and i have heard 500 more lah dah dah dah
really srong but dont try and sand it
who the hell sands the cloth anyway .
anyway sabs told me he made a board with it. a little fish with funky fins and told me he sailed around the world with it in his boat. no boardbag in and out of tenders etc etc
I work with it for though industrial parts, it´s best material for ding resistance, hard to perforate, i think to use it for toughering skins, bottom and rails, use wood sandwich on deck. I will Use it as first layer with glass over and resin tint to avoid sand of kevlar and uv. As others plastic fibers kevlar is tough but not tough because of high stretchability but because of high tensil modulus with still stretch capibility. So it´s better for composits and married well with other fibers. Dynema (spectra) is à good one too but cost à lot and really difficult to glue with resin. Kevlar is cheaper and easy to find some studdy for composit use with décent adhérence with resin. Better to use light vaccum because kevlar is light and want to float over resin. Keep it in dry hot room and buy specific cissors because it can be a nightmare to cut.
