Klingspor has too many choices of paper types for me to experiment and find out which works best.I’ll be sanding resin research epoxy using a 6" pad.Any input on what type(aluminum oxide etc) is best for sanding rr epoxy is appreciated.
150, 220, 320
Are you using their special disks (hook-loop, perforated for vacuum, both)? The most common abrasive is either garnet or alum oxide. Garnet is for wood so use alum oxide. If you’re using a hook-loop sander pad, paper with stiff backing will last longer. However, you need to use more flexible paper and a softer pad pad for rails. Usually with the disks the options are limited. Stay away from dark colored paper in the lower grits, it will leave dark dust in all the nooks and crannies of the glass.
Thanks for the replies.I’m using adhesive backed disks without holes.
It took me a year to save up the money but it was worth it.80,120,220,320,400,600,800,1000,1200 and 1500 grits in 6" adhesive backed disks and this stuff is really good.I ground down 2 proboxes with 80 on a hard pad and the 80 still looks new.Its light color allows me to sand foam as well without staining the foam yellow(norton)or sling little black granules all over the blank(horrible freight paper).
