Kneelo Blanks?

Little help here please.

Olphart now and a “cripple”.

Looking to make some knee boards for my buddies and me and have run a foul as to blanks.

Only I’m in Ventura Co. So. Cal.

Anyone gotta a line locally?

Any help will be valued.

We have a guy locally who uses the 6’2"F and the 6’8F from Arctic because they have  the extra width, they are about 25" wide and carry a big full nose and tail. Not sure it you guys have a local source up there for Arctic

Here’s a photo of the outlines

Yeah, Matt, the Artic is a really nice blank for kneeboards.  I prefer the 6’2, and I get them in the yellow density.  You can get a nice deck scoop without sacrificing foam strength from that formula.  Due to the thickness, you can also hand shape in a rocker with a bit of tail kick if you so desire.  I love these blanks for kneeboards with speeddialer fin set-ups.  The 6’ also allows you to shape into the 5’6" range if you take most of your passes off the bottom.  Here’s an example of an old school/new school fish using that blank.  This pic is a few years old now, I need to update my files! LOL  Just my 2c…

I don’t know about FGH Ventura but Shaper Supply in Santa Monica carries Arctic, IIRC.

@ Huck  FGH is a partner with USB so they wont carry another Poly Blank But you are correct on Shaper Supply as another Arctic dealer as well.

You could also add wide stringer to get additional width, no?

Pretty much any of the US Blank fish blanks will work.

5’10" RP,

6’8" RP,

6’2"A,

6’5"A

The A series blanks need more tail rocker.

  • 1/2" or more.

I also have them add width too. 2" or so.

Built a few kneeboards last year.

Gonna make more soon.

Barry,

What’s the fin placement on your knee board? I shaped one today for a friend who is no longer able to stand-up surf due to a car accident years ago, but is in the water daily with a really positive attitude about life… or it could be the pain pills?

Thanks,

g

Here is my daily driver.

Bud McCray thruster set up that I modified for quad.

Eh Bud is a charger and an interesting guy, photo.

Got those measurements somewhere PM me if you like.

Need to check my shaping log.

I think the five fin board is 17" & 11’’ with the trailer fin box @ 5 1/2".

I’ll check tomorrow to be sure.

Right on guys! thanks!
