lamination issue

Ive heard the over shaping a blank can make it rather spongy making it absorb resin during laminating. Does this affect the balance and floatation of the board?

“Overshaping” makes for less foam.

Soaks in more resin makes for more resin.

Amount of glass used is the same.

Core foam is slightly weaker than skin foam.

More resin is slightly stronger than less resin, but not enough to make up for softer foam.

Don’t overshape a blank, if you can avoid it.
