Thought I would finally post pics of one of my boards. I just put the final polish on it the other day.
The blank is a walker. The dimensions are 9’3"x18"nX23x16"t. Rocker is approximately 5" in the nose with about three in the tail. Rails are pinched 50/50. Currently I have a hole in the base of the fin for a leash. Might add a loop later.
Glass is 8oz volan top and bottom. Laminated and hot coated by Bruce"Snake" Gabrielson. The red panel and stripe are there to cover a set of dark squares from storing the board on my dirty glassing rack while getting some plumbing done last fall. I have seen a bunch of color jobs like this on boards in the old Bruce brown flicks and thought it would look cool. Also, the gloss is just another hotcoat thats been polished. My gloss resin went bad, and wouldn’t kick properly anymore causing havoc with a previous board. I didn’t really bother giving it a proper wet-sand before polishing since I plan on keeping this one.
I’ve been trying for a couple of weeks to get it in the water, but my luck has been horrible lately.
