laying out the cloth

when using a 6/4 deck…which is better to have as the bottom layer 4 oz. or 6 oz…my guess is the 6, but not too sure.

Put the 4 on top as it takes less hoat coat to fill the weave

Put the 4 on top as it takes less hoat coat to fill the weave The only problem with the 4 on top is that the rails are weaker with a 4oz. wrap. Also the 4 is tighter and it is tougher to work it over the 6oz. The 6 holds more resin than the 4, with the 4 against the foam, it is easier to get a tighter lam that is less resin rich. You want a minimal of resin, it is only a glue to hold the glass to the board, Boards that have resin rich lams tend to delam and shatter more than a tight/dry lam.
