Le Chambre d'Amour

The most beautiful woman watching the most beautiful boards being made.........ah, Josh, you're in heaven.......except for the cold winters!

"…And so, you see, I have come to doubt

All that I once held as true…"

As for the mascot, seeing your boards I knew that you couldn’t have a bad taste. Aaaaaah… Brigitte…

I don’t want to turn this thread into a pin-up gallery, but here’s mine:

Le Chambre c'est occupe!

Inaugurated today with a 6'5...a tandem for me and Brigitte...which is why its only 6'5...

But seriously, all-wood for Cam, fellow swaylocker, aka "Fish Experiment". I've made him wait a little longer so this one would be the first in my new room.

Feels comfy...

There’s something really apealling about the fact that you could ship your shaping room to just about any where in the world.  I can think of a lot of places where no one would either care or know that your shaping room is on the beach.  Solar panels and you’re set.

-oye! baja el cargamento aqui

-aqui? estamos en la puta mierda

Reefer......Cool!!

So Josh, did you rent the space between two factories??  Looks like you are having fun, good on you.

ah good one keep going  keep us posted

**    cheers huie

Yorky and Todd really raised the bar for me with their fancy-schmancy new factories...

And further pressure on the space in the little lam shop outfit I'm attached to meant I had to pull fingee out. So how to move out without actually moving far?

I've had so much love in the Chambre with Brigitte that I decided I needed to to do her sisters as well. So I'm extending, bush stylee.

Sandwich panels from a demolished chicken battery - Ten bucks a piece, so I've picked up more than enough to take that new space all the way along the "lawn". Watch that floor grow out of my own two hands.

Temperature-controlled lam room ! LUXURY.

My very own spray bay with no polyurethane dust or ding wax!!! YAY!!!

Hey Wildy, I pay the Lam shop proprietor, longtime Torquay bad-boy Rouser, a fee per board. I still spray the odd PU for him in there and trade the price.

This is good because I'm not under pressure on slow weeks. We have an agreement with the landlord - carte-blance as far as the "lawn" is concerned.

My bagging space and lam space is wedged into the ceiling in the big shed you see there, on top of the original bays I helped build pre-FW. The heat of the loft has always been a hassle - lamming timber and carrying it down ricketty stairs still wet to get the cool-down.

The intention is that the new rooms be modular, and relatively easily dismantled, stacked in the container and gone to a shed all my own if I grow that much in the future.

Fridge wall is great stuff...especially at 10 bucks a piece.

Great to see your new home Josh, make sure you permanently modify the locking mechanism so some dope doesnt lock you in over the long weekend.  Sorry 'bout that dude...

Hey,

Yeah, the original plan was to stack containers on top of each other and have a goods lift - but I never found another one as cheap as the Chambre.

The fridge motor is still in it, a BIG pump. I could make the mother of all extraction/vac/compressor systems, but need some clues what to do with it.

If you get it set up right you could start a new version of aussie built FW...

Hey tblank - how you mean "reefer?"...

Anyways, happened to get the roof on the first new room THE DAY BEFORE serious torrential rain. It's not Queensland, but the rain did a good impersonation.

A few leaks from the screwholes in the second-hand tin.

The race is on - will boards currently in lamination be the first to be sprayed in here?

JD

Josh, take it as you will....

but it also means "refridgerated" trailer. (With insulation)

Hey Tblank...I should have guessed!

Its been put to me that my litte extension should be a gentleman's retreat rather than a spray room. Well, it's plush but not like that...

The door is on. This is the world's first plywood/EPS composite roller-door!!! It'l eventually be inside. The lovely yellow paint is half-price mis-tint from our aussie Home-Depot equivalent, Bunnings.

With slices of a dud block from my foam supplier, I've got a nice lined roof.

Cabinet makers next door keep throwing 8' x 4' sheets of MDF my way, more than enough...so the tin wall I'm up against is lined too.

Fan - from a crematorium, no kidding!

I'm calling on friends next time...I got this beast up there alone. I'll be using some blowing foam to fill holes in my walls yet, but she sucks like a bitch...

A cowling, an overspray/heater cabinet...some wall racks, stands, big new compressor...love shopping!

A party with reefer or a party with the reef girls? I know which one i’d pick!

Josh, I'm envious. Hope you get to have a christening party with a some reefer. and by reefer I mean.......

Hey Beery why not both? I'm 40 this weekend and the ladies would lurv my new room...

Inaugrated today, this is my 40th present to myself - I've worked in more bays than I care to remember, but at last this one will only have my boards in it...

To the best of times.

Nice boards too.
