groms are good reminders that it’s all supposed to be for fun. Mike

Ben, that is GREAT! I believe that it sums up why many of us return to Swaylocks every day (and to the ocean whenever possible!)
and why many women my age hate me .
One of my neighbours told me “grow up” , when she saw me wearing it . Another one , a “friend’s” wife , told me …“you can’t surf ALL your life” …to which I replied , “why not”

Why do people give up on life so easily? Whenever I take my kids to an amusement park the get so excited that they can hardly stand still. Why is it that adults have lost touch with that kind of excitement? When was the last time you felt that way about something?
life is one big amusement park …
full of topsy turvy houses , tunnel of loves , ghost trains , big dippers , fairy floss , throw ups , coney island babies …
Surfing brings out the inner grommet in me pretty well But I like him so I’ve found lots of ways to wake him up…
Climbing trees is a very good one. So is throwing rocks into water. Walking in the street gutters during a rainstorm & getting all wet. Eating ice cream. Laughing at cartoons. Playing with dogs. Running without a destination…
I also like Rich Harbour’s t-shirt (and the sticker to his left):
…but viagra can restore your pop outs…or is that pop ups
Or…Enzite, the once a day pill for natural male enhancement! Now you don’t even need to paddle
out on a big day to grow a nut…

Every time I see my 5 year old acting like that. It lets me know that I’ve remembered the things that made me feel that way and now my greatest joy is sharing those things with the little guy. Sharing experiences and teaching my son fills me with a sense of both pride and excitement and keeps me young.
I get er excited , waiting for your avatar girl to “drop” around sometime …she’s …the BOMB !
My 11 year old daughter and surfing are my fountains of youth.
Mix the two together and I’am just giddy!
