They actually worked great! Just finished shaping the blank in the pic… Best part is they hang up and out of the way when they aren’t being used…they weigh only about 4 lbs each…

Hey Soul,

For overheads, you might have to use LEDs with more dispersion (wider beam), but I’m sure it can work…

I ended up using the same type of LED, once I knew I was overdriving them. For the best brightness, green LEDs work best, as it is the color we see best, but greens are more expensive, and require more voltage to drive them.

Things can get pretty expensive when you are buying hundreds of them…maybe next year I’ll build a more complete array, and I’ll update as well…if you do overheads, definitely post about them…

Leds can be bought on ebay from hongkong, china, etc. quite inexpensively f.ex. link
