Let the trash talk continue...I'm going surfing

Hey Gang,

Well, with Malik on Friday and Clark on Monday, I’d say there’s been some tragic deaths in the surfing world over the last few…

But with the AMK thread and the Clark is no more thread becoming yet another pissing contest…let’s just say that I’m happy to be leaving town for a month with my lady love, destined for Peru and far away from a computer monitor.

Hope when I come back that the racism, the closed mindedness (this goes two ways), the personal attacks and the pettiness have diminished.

Hope that people will once again start sharing ideas of merit (rather than spouting off either incorrect and ill-informed “knowledge”), remember the tranquility that can be found in this great Sport of Kings and again let that vibe infuse the rest of their lives.

Hope that people in the know will chime in when they’ve got something beneficial to add and that the (often ignorant) loudmouths will start to shut the hell up and quit polluting the message board with either useless propaganda or self agrandizing crap. Oh yeah…and that people will remember rule #1; CHECK THE ARCHIVES

Hope that Chip catches the swell of the century in Western Oz, documents it all on his new camera, paddles out in surf so gnarly he needs every single one of his 7 fin options and that Hicksy’s kids are cheering from the beach.

Sways has become a SERIOUS issue for me; work productivity has hit an all time low, so I’m gonna regulate going forward, but it’s been a great year; now four boards deep and building stuff I love to surf…WOOT WOOT!

All the best to you and yours over the holidays; my thanks for many a kind word and piece of advice from our members and my thoughts and prayers for those now contemplating new direction/solving a supply problem.

Cheers,

G

Hey Big G

Have a great trip, enjoy the warmth, and the surf. The snow is falling here now and the waves have been great so I couldn’t be happier but I think I still would rather be heading to Peru.

Have a great holiday and see you when you get back. Something tells me I may be looking to borrow that variac of yours a bit more. LOL

Peace and waves

Bon voyage, man, and careful with the Pisco.

Best regards

doc…

Have a great trip Great White and thanks for the reminder. Mike

Amen brother GWN, very sad how in a few days we have a fallen soldier in the line up (R.I.P. Malik) and potentially some very serious repercussion for many great craftsmen and their families with their lively hood being threatened with the fall out of Clark, and sure enough tempers flare, yet this is serious business and it seems inherent of human nature that emotions might get the best of us. I think more than a few of us need a good surf right about now (myself Included). I walked down to creek to get a Body Surf no less, knowing that there would be a meager swell at best, only to find the beach closed due to a sewage spill. Crap! (Literally and theoretically). Well once again things are put in to perspective. If the closure was truly for the better of the environment we will all be better off in the long run. So many good points have been made by so many brilliant people on this web site and while there might be bigger fish to fry regarding pollution, if we don’t start somewhere we won’t have any fish to fry.

With that being said have a great time.

haha

thanks for the fearless thoughts “GWN” [that’s a t.v. network here in west oz] …

the reality is I’m not a BIG wave charger , and the surf goes flat here now for three months .

But I hope that over that time , my mal [when finished] will get lots of use .

My goal for summer is to learn all over again …how to take off and surf switchfoot . How to head dip , coffin ride , fin first takeoff …possibly a noseride or two [natural stance] , if there are any waves worth riding . Should be fun , hopefully !

Have a great trip …glad to see you are doing what REALLY counts ! [You are not alone in your desire to reduce time on the computer, believe me ! …rather be surfing !]

…I have felt like leaving here for a while , but Josh’s enthusiasm and Carve Nalu’s astounding lineup shots and exploits of riding sizeable waves in Hawaii on a 12’ board with a paddle [!] keep me coming back for more !! THIS is the sort of good stuff that I feel is at the heart of Swaylocks , and separates it from the other surf forums.

have a great holiday mate ! [maybe even take a photo or two , if you like ?]

 cheers !

Hey GWN

you go enjoy yourself in the cold southern hemi and forget about this place…

I’m sure it’ll be here when you get back unless the lurkers continue not to support Mike’s effort…

Look forward to the stories of your adventure…

Funny in that Shwuz just went on his honeymoon in costa rica…

must be that time of year…

much aloha from Ewa Beach

Catch a long left for me.

Catch way more for yourself.

Have fun.
