Can anyone tell me if Mr. Liddle is still hand foiling volan fins to accompany his boards? I picked up a 7’6" Smoothie today and was given a blue True Ames flex fin to go with it. Supposedly its a Liddle template but I am surprised and a little dissapointed that I didn’t get the real thing.
I think he does re-foil the TA and Bahne fins if you order them directly from him.
Jim
What shop did you get it from? if you dont mind my asking. They come with clear volan fins.
i got mine Sep of 2006 - i think GL made the fin himself since mine came with no logo on it. i bought a Ta 9" volan backup/spare… looks identical, but with the TA logo on it.
Dr Strange - i loved yr description of it’s handling.

HAH! Almost more like it handled me…and I loved it. Sounds sort of perv doesn’t it?
kp knows this better than i , but for a while there was a fin issue, so the standard ta l-flex was hnaded out with purchase of board.however, now things are on track and even better cause you can get a ta l-flex in volan, to either have as a backup fin or as the initial fin.the fins greg sends with his boards have a slightly shorter base than the ta l-flex so to have on of each is an optimum way to tune your board in…
Sent you a PM, Kirk.
I heard a similar story from the proprietor of the shop. He told me that G.Liddle was sending boards with the True Ames fins that he refoiled slightly, although mine appeared never to have seen any sand paper.
not anymore -at least to the shops i deliver the boards to. they are all coming with volan liddle flex fins or the new and improved TA volan l-flex fin…( the difference between the two is basically the length of base).
Hey Anthony, if you want come by my place and I will trade you for a volan. Matts right on with the info.
If theres no personal cost to you, Kirk, I would love to take you up on that offer. Thanks to everyone else for the info.
