I have a 6’-6" Liddle and have been riding it for a few months now. The board turns well, but I would like it to be a little bit looser. I currently have the 9" narrow Volan Liddle flex fin, all the way forward in the box. Experienced hull riders. What would make the board perform better? Re-foiling the fin even narrower and keeping the height, or going shorter smaller fin? Thanks in advance for your input!!
IMO , in small clean surf you can use a narrow smaller fin, but you have to commit to the rail up foward. In peaky beachbreaks it can be frustrating because you drop in lay it over on the rail and turn and the wave can be over with.
ask Surferguy80 about his hulls being surfed with keels…they are insanly loose
it’s the right fin. put it further back in box . somewhere between 12.5" and 13.25" as measured from tail to trailing edge of fin… contrary to myth, on hulls they loosen up when the fin is further back. all the way forward is a full-on committed rail turn and drive-nothing more, nothing less…
