Hey folks, Just a quick question. What or how long is an expected lifespan of a foam once it has already been shaped? If it’s sitting in my garage not covered, will it be ok there until I’m ready to glass it? If it’s a lil dingy, should I just run 300 grit to get it back to ultra white color and then glass it?
It is more likely to ding if left around. Dust, dirt, grease from people hands as they pass by…fallen objects. It is vulnerable to all of this. You should stand it up on the stringer or place it on a rack resting on three points to prevent twisting as well. Support it like a tricycle. The sooner you glass it the better. Good luck.

I’ve actually been testing this out on accident with a board that came out like shit and I dont feel like glassing. Had it for a little over a year, stored up on a rack horizontally. Little over a year and no warp yet. I’m usually comfortable with a shaped blank sitting 3-4 weeks before glassing. Im in southern CA and its dry and not much sunlight in the glassing room, Im sure other people will tell you to glass it a lot quicker - ya its ideal to glass it right away.
