Lifting Surfboard Stand

To Ozzy: here’s the original sketch I told you about:

Proper sized conduit or pipe over the Threaded stem…and spin the wing nut fitting to lower or raise…simple and cheap

This barber chair has worked pretty good over the years. If you kick the pedal bar up it locks the shaft so there is no spin. I have since made a better drip tray. Can’t get pics right now.

There is a four foot light fixture under the new tray.It illuminates the laps. My old eyes and back love it.

Thanks Balsa!

CleanLines, that’s a great setup! I’m going to have to look around for a couple of those. Thanks!

That is very cool Cleanlines.

Lowell - you may present the simplest sollution of all…  May take a look at that first.

I used to have a short stand and right next to it a tall stand. I would wet out the board surface using the low stand and get it ready to flip the laps.

Then I would just move the board over to the high (tit high) to flip the laps. It worked great. This was before I used the drip tray so it was easy to move the board.

Once I had the laps flipped I could move the board to a wall rack and start the next board. I first saw this at Spectrum.

I let it pass becauase I didn’t want to talk out my ass when YOU stated that you just couldn’t pay $1300-1400 for their rack.  Your statement is complete BS.  $1300-1400 is almost three times their cost on the Shapers Austrlia website.  I remember their price to be $600 Aus dollars.  But it is $579.35 Aus. dollars.  So if what you say is true and you DO want what the big boys like Rusty and Carper use;  buy one from Shapers Aus.  You’ll have close to that in something you fabricate yourseld from square tubing.  AND you’ll still probably build something that requires you adjust it with a resin soaked glove.  Just setting the record straight.  Lowel

I said a PAIR, as in TWO douche bag. That includes shipping to the US. And you are talking out your ass as always.

How does $105 sound?

Thanks everysurfer I was looking for a TV lift  , but THAT is the answer for the lifting racks .

I have trim tabs on my boat from this company.  Very powerful.  They make these actuators for application like lifting heavy motor hatches.

That’s great! Thanks man!

Thank you too!

Two??   You ARE a “Big Boy”.  I can tell by the way you bend over.

Coming from the forum know-it-all that means less than nothing.

Grow up and get a clue, troll…

I built my own rack. It was personalized and really cool.

Ok, I’ll ask…

Patricia, will you show us your rack?

Sorry…

some awesome ideas on here

Harbor frieght( 164$) has a 9- 28 inch range on a cart that is easily adapted to put stands on…first though check it’s operation in store before crating home. The motorcycle stand is a great option as well but this cart seemed to fit my mechanical abilities to modify…will post pics next week.
