Here’s the story…
Me and family on holiday camping at Sennen in Cornwall 2 years ago…
I’d just run up from the beach after a nice surf - chucked the board I’d just finished making under the van … for “safe keeping”…
Wife says…“Hey Ce’ move the van - it’s not straight…”
So I jump into the drivers seat, engage gear before brain and …crack…!
I let out startled cry…wife thinks initially that I’ve run over the dog…she quickly realises it’s much more serious…
The board did not pass the Van test…
I thought…ahhh welll I’ll re-shape that when my boy’s old enough to get into it…
Well that time has come…
From a 6 10 x 20" thruster…it has been reduced to a 5 5 x 18 1/2 grom board for my grom…
Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of the process but here’s the finished project…

“Old boards never die, they just plane on a smaller level…”
Very nice one, the boy looks stoked too. Did he ride it yet?
Merci bien pour les kind words Balsa…
Yep he’s taken it out twice…and is convinced he’s gonna be even better than slater…ahhhhhh the potential of youth!
Hi silversurfer.
I’d really like to see photos of the process , actually !
…reckon you could just put that board under your van again , and start all over , THIS time with a camera recording the WHOLE process ?
thank you

Hey Ben…Sounds like a good idea…I’ll suggest to my kid tonight and see what we can do…
Like your new fins by the way…
cheers buddy ,
maybe I could send you a couple to stab the board with , if your current glass job proves too strong for the van ?
just a random idea …[we get LOTS of those , here in wozzland !]
