logo without glass

today im going to glass on logos to a board with a tint job, im doing it between the lam and hotcoats, but im wondering why i need to “glass” them on, is there any reason not to forego the 2-4 oz. patch recommended in other posts and just resin the logo on?

i kind of assume there is, but i tested a scrap logo yesterday, with just hotcoat resin (no glass), to see if the ink would bleed or anything and that one is holding up fine, granted its only been 24 hours.

It’s more a matter of sanding though once you’re finished. The cloth adds protection as well as keeping it flat.

You don’t have to glass over, but be care ful. a miss with the sander will bugger the whole job for a small piece of glass.

…always put fiber on top, 4 0z or 2 oz, always…or youll cry a lot
