Logos on lam paper to be more like decal...

I’m looking for a way to get my logo reproduced onto a material that’s less transparent than regular lam/ surf paper. Is there a way to do this. I currently use the ol’ inkjet and lam paper method for my boards. It’s great except when it needs to go over a darker surface or a wide stringer. How the heck does Bruce Jones or Stewart do it?

Check the archives, there were a few answers to the particular question. I believe the quick fix involved taking your existing lam paper, coating it with white or colored acrylic paint (roller?) and drying it. Then run it through the printer as usual with appropriate changes to text color and highlights etc. The high end solution will of course look cleaner but you would have to spend $$$ to get it done. I believe Ramon had a good solution to this. Search the archives starting with his posts. Ramon, (or Tom or anyone else if you’ve tried it yet) You didn’t mention: Do you paint both sides (back and front) of the paper…or just the side you print on? Thanks…deeb…

hey deeb, i painted only the side i printed on, AND never really considered printing on the unpainted side. now, thanks to your question, i’m wondering if the results would have been better had i done it that way (i think so!). tell you why…the dried acrylic actually absorbed a portion of the printer ink, creating a very slight blotchiness (for lack of a better term). it wasn’t a problem with the black ink, only with the other colors. i don’t think i’d want to paint both sides, though. thanks!>>> Ramon, (or Tom or anyone else if you’ve tried it yet)>>> You didn’t mention: Do you paint both sides (back and front) of the > paper…or just the side you print on?>>> Thanks…deeb…
