Hey guys, Good to see the board up and running. My link was giving me a search engine earlier today. Have a question about rice paper logos. I use my inkjet to run logos with. A new trick I do is I take all the outline out (black) and run the color through again after the first run has dried good. Found that leaving the black in sometimes caused a smear if the paper humps up a little. They look great. Now the problem is I have a nice cloth inlay and I want to put the logo on top of it. How can I make it “Opaque” so the cloth print doesn’t show through? I read in the archives about spraying with acrylic white on the back before using. WIll this work? What will keep the white paint from coming through to the front? Can I spray with “future” clear then white? It’s the littlest things that seem to cause the most problems. Any imput will help, I don’t want to mess this board up! Thanks, Krokus
if you have a simple logo, oval circle square etc, just cut the cloth out and pinline aound the logo, looks great http://www.surfboardglassing.com
So I can just trace the outline and remove the cloth inlay from that spot? Too easy, I thought of that. Simple is good. I did remove the part of the logo that extends outside the oval to make it simpler. Hope the cloth can be removed without messing it up. I had though tabout painting the spot white before applying the logo also. MLC
that works too http://www.surfboardglassing.com
Krokus - So you’re onto the logo already, eh? How did that cloth inlay go? I hope it was a good experience, because it sucks to try stuff for the first time and have it bomb. Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product. good luck man. Regards, Red
