Sheewww very nice in deed

pulled up a chair

took a sip of the morning smoothe

watched a kindred spirit

speak the truth.

quite refreshing.

to create artifacts to

validate one’s life…

to have those same artifacts appreciated,

humbling…   thanks for the refreshing

Thought I heard Marta talk about the Kapaa book project on hawaii public radio yesterday

tell we wish her good luck!

naah,diffrent marta.

marta wakes in the dawn’s early light and says, sew…

marta has taken over the screen printing table

and is printing about twelve to 16 yards of fabric a week

and sewing into lady’s garments, dresses and tops,

has been free coloring manipulating color with brush and squeegee

Altho she was an english tutor at kcc when she arrived on kauai in 1968

the day after she got off the plane she was on the front steps of shido store

to buy fabricand sewed a dress a day to make a wardrobe to augment

her mini samsonite travel lite .the other marta is a journalist

who writes for the garden island

and other promopapers…

… ambrose…

heaven.Allthe way to

kaena point…

surfed 5-6 hours in the morning with my brother (hurt my shoulder(tore rotator last Nov at Rock Quarry with Peter Poppler) getting ragged dolled on the last one coming in)

had to go back in the late afternoon for another 2 hour session

8-12 faces but 25-40 people on sunday with 20-40 minute lulls

8-10 faces yesterday 5 guys out no wind

all my now retired surf buddies scored “again”

what’s the odds of two famous “martas” in kapaa?

“surf for peace”

surfing is definitely a most deadly disease

can’t get anything done when there’s a swell
