My Swaylock’s search has convinced me that PU blanks will remain usable for a long time, almost in spite of storage conditions. However, the one point that eludes me is “what is the proper orientation of the blank (9’+) during long term storage ( > 1 year)”? vertical on rail? horizontal with deck up? horizontal with deck down? vertical hanging? horizontal hanging? on a dowel rack? etc. My main concern is to avoid the dreaded “twisted sister” or “propeller” as referred to so often. Any suggestions? Tim
I’ve stored blanks for years with no problems as long as I either
stood them on their tails against a wall (as close to vertical as
possible) or laid them on a rail (again against something and vertical)
What you want to avoid are any forces acting on the blank. It
probably won’t twist by itself, but if you have something pushing on it…
If it turns brown over time, don’t worry; it’ll stay white on the inside.

make sure you keep them out of direct sunlight, i stored mine over the winter and tip was infront of a window and started to yellow.
