Aloha , can someone tell me what the best blank is for a 10ft range board ? Please ? I want to make one with a lot of nose and tail rocker and thickness. I have looked at the clark blank website and don’t see anything with very much …Well at least not a lot of rocker I am thinking 6 inches in the nose and 4-5 in the tail or more …
If anyone remembers I an the one who had to have disc surgery 4 months ago and feel good now . In fact I went surfing in Melbourne last week 3 ft. waves … It felt great . But today I saw the Doc for a 4 month check . He sez it looks like I have been maybe too active and the “fusion” may not be “taking” like it should … I gotta slow down… Ugh! and think I will try making another board in my spare time … Thanks for the help…
I am also reviving the 1st board I made . Turning it into a fish but thats another thread.. Any blank selection would be appreciated . I may just ride up to Melbourne Clark Foam Warehouse and see what they have in "seconds" laying around Thanks Again, Don J.
Just some of my crazy/beginner theroy . Gonna try to make a floaty = thick . good turning = rocker? thin rails etc. board . I don’t reall know what I’m doin but if I can get a blank close to what i’m thinking it will be easier to try what I’d like to .
My favorite longboard I’ve ever had surfing since 14 -50 now . Is my Walden Magic . I know maybe it is just a stable beginner / novice type design … Maybe … But I have the most fun on it and have tried several others .
I just have some “crazy” ideas on how to make it more fun for me . It will most likely end up being a waste of resin and a lot of pain for me but I have made a couple of boards and after their done it’s cool to ride what you’ve made .
Anyhow I have looking like 3 more months before I can get back in the water so … Why Not… This board building stuff is addictive … Thanks, Don J.
Thanks I’ll look at tha one … Probabally the best bet is to look for “seconds” at Clark Foam of Melbourne . I even tried to make my own blank from Dow XPS roofing Styro got 1/2 way thru and threw it out . I have found ot it is best to try to find a blank close to what I want to build and then not try to change it toom much… Beginner . I know . Guess I should / could try to do it the right way .
Most of the Clark longboard blanks come with what amounts to ‘standard’ rocker & ‘Rich Harbour rocker’. There’s a reason he makes so many Bananas. Just ask for one with the Harbour rocker - doesn’t even have to be one of the “H” designated blanks, they’ll know what you want.
