Longboard fin installation help

I just saped my first longboard and i ususally use FCS fins but I need something else. I looked into LokBox fins but couldn’t find alot of info on the installation process so i was wondering if someone could provide some help and let me know what the best fin system to use is and/or how to install it and what equipment i’d need to install it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

You mean tri or quad?

For any fin bigger than 7.5", you need FinsUnlimited, the standard log board fin, availible from them, Chinnook, or most surfshops.

Just check archives, or scroll down about 40 posts for install tips without router.

based on your location i’d suggest surfsource www.surfsource.org as the supplier for your fin box (channel), fin, finplate and fin screw. they also have resins, glass etc. located in atlantic beach, fl. if you ordered today, you’d have your stuff by friday.

anyhow. you could either do a glass on fin or a fin box installation.

plenty of information in the archives on both.

if you don’t get enuff info there, i can give you the step by step i use.

Order a Bahne finbox, install it without sidebites. Any kind of info you need to install is located on this website.

I’m not a big fan of sidebites - but if you must use them just install as you normally would. Installing a traditional longboard finbox is pretty simple stuff, a lot less complicated - IMO - then installing Futures or FCS fins. Easier on the glassing side too.

here’s the site for SurfSource…it’s .NET

or you can order it straight from FU…they have a website.
