Longboard repair / restoration project - need some advice please

Well finally the end of a long journey.  Man what was I thinking……but hey like they say it ain’t the destination it’s the trip there….since the last post I’ve re-glassed and hot coated, finished with clear gloss acrylic.  Thanks for the feedback Shuska and screwfoot, the coffee is a great idea, and yes keep the pad up, that was just a quick photo op.  Reminds me of drafting class – using the scale to draw a straight line usually got my knuckles wrapped……  Anyways in this round got to practice cut laps (I love cutlaps; more prep work but they are soooooo much easier to finish).  I am still learning the best way to cut them, timing is important, not sure about proper blade angle.  Still learning hot coats.  I skipped a gloss coat and use the spray finish to avoid adding more weight (final weight was around 20 lbs).  Beside all the stuff mentioned above, my final takeaway is that with all the stress cracks glassing over that stuff just added weight.  I should have stripped her clean (cutting around and leaving the decals), filled in the dents gouges and scrapes and then done the glass job like a new board.  If this wasn’t a sentimental board project, then my recommendation would be to take the lines off and build a new one from scratch, probably the same amount of elbow grease.   Same for a famous old board find; clean it up and hang it on a wall as is or with minimum cosmetic repair, but if you want to surf it make a replica.   Like screwfoot points out how it rides is the whole point……and I’m going to have to get back to you on that one……reality has encroached again….but I will let know as soon as I get a chance.
