Longboard Reshape

I have a longboard which broke. I was able to reshape the section that broke off. Now I’d like to glass the board.I was told I can use Q-cell along with resin and catalyst to coat a thin layer in the areas of foam which aren’t smooth (some foam was peeled off when taking the fiberglass off).

What I Have to Work With:

ryobi disk sander (with sandpaper), 80, 200, 1000 grit sandpaper, 4yrds of fiberglass cloth, large container half gallon of resin and catalyst

I still need to take the fiberglass down along the still cracked sections. I’m told just sand those areas down, apply a thin layer of qcell + resin + catalyst to fill in any areas effected by tearing off the glass. Then use resin + fiberglass cloth to form around the board. Two layers on bottom. One on top and rails. Then polish with sandpaper. This is what I’ve managed to scrape up. This is my first time glassing a board so any help or point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

You can spackle the dents too if they’re minor, easier than the Q-cell fix.  Before glassing, obviously.  Not gonna be a showroom board, I wouldn’t stress too much about the finish, make it watertight and surfable.  Learn to use the archives (search function and read up on past threads), tons of information there.  Keep us posted, its a journey, you’re at the starting gate.  Welcome to swaylocks!
