Looking for some pics from glassers...

I would like to see a few different pics, if anyone has any laying around, or if you are so inclined to go take some of your current project(s)…Here’s what I’m looking for.

1.) Pic of a board that has just been hotcoated, and cured, but before being sanded…

2.) Pic of a board that has been glossed, and cured, but before being sanded/polished…

3.) Closeup of any seam left down the rail after being hotcoated, and cured, but before being sanded…

And one last question- After sanding your hotcoat, whether you gloss or not, at that point your board should be as smooth (sanding wise) as it’s going to be, right? After glossing, you shouldn’t have to sand down ANY large clumps or bumps, just wet/dry sand and poilsh…

Thanks for any help.

Howzit tenover, For pics 1 & 3 does it matter if the fin system is installed or not. Aloha, Kokua

Doesn’t matter…I’m trying to get a general idea of how smooth (or not) the finish should look at these stages so I can guage my progress. Thanks.

Tenover. here are two pictures that TFAD from Moonlight Glassing took of my unfinish glassed job… it looks like it’s the lam coat unsanded…?

Yeah, I saw that on SurferMag Shipman…Nice board. I’m looking for some pics after the hotcoat has been applied and after the gloss coat has been applied. Those shots of yours are right after it’s been laminated…Killer looking board though!

you should go over Moonlight they will give you a tour and answer any question.

you posted just in time! going to sand tomorrow, then add a second hot coat to the deck (not shown because of major screw up).

used 16 oz. lam resin + 15 cc’s wax solution + 13 (ish) cc’s cat. in upper seventy degree weather. 3 inch chip brush due to thats all i could find at the moment.

Thanks fluffy, lookin’ good…I’m thinking that board is at least 6’, right? You can hotcoat a 6’ board with 16oz. of resin??? Amazing. I always fill up a quart bucket for each side!! DOH.

Howzit tenover, Check you hotmail e-mail for pics, the file was to big to post here.Aloha, Kokua
