Thought some of you here might appreciate this - I installed a black mailbox for a customer of mine, after her old one got hit by a car. She said "Its black - its too plain - can't you paint some stars on it or something?" Then she thought for a minute and said "or just do something creative, whatever you want."
I spent a couple hours getting creative with it. This is what she got.
BTW, this is the view from her backyard...
and if you zoom in on that point in the distance...
...this guy must think he's Owl Chapman, he's doing the hood ornament stance here LOL.
I just made do with the colors I had (and I only had 3 - blue white and tan) - but I did think of that, and can go back with red later if its an issue. I think red would look better too. But I noticed none of the other mailboxes have red flags, and even this one didn't come red. I don't think her mailman cares much, he was just glad to have a decent box, the old dented one was a pain for him to open. Think I'll bring red with me when I go back next week.
Might just add that tube rider too, that sounds pretty cool.
She is a real live wire. Does trapeeze (yeah like in the circus), is learning scuba, also does stage acting - singing - piano, and her son is a surfer. So she's stoked on the box.
Huck, great spot to be working lately with the weather and south swells. Though any place to be working is a blessing right now.
I always have wanted to see it break inside that little point by the "yacht" club with the old pier pilings. It seems to have the potential but have never seen it rideable. That spot has intrigued me for years.
Again, nice job on the mailbox. Does she really have a trapese in her back yard? Sounds like a fun gal.
