As I wrote in another post, the Basque coast was hit at 6.30 AM and we had some power cut-offs, tiles flying from roofs, many trees fallen down and I have seen quite a number of chimneys gone down, too, but it looks like things got much more serious up north in the Landes and in the Bordeaux area. Three people got killed in the Landes, two were crushed in their cars by falling trees, one was hit by some flying garbage. Pines went down, blocking many roads and bringing down power lines with them; About two millions people are without power right now. On the spanish side, nine people were killed when the roof of a gymnasium collapsed…
Tonight, the wind is much less powerful but the storm is moving fast towards the south east with cities like Carcassonne or Perpignan being hit as i’m writing this.
I sent a mail to Jeffrey to ask if everything is OK but no reply so I guess he must be out of power…
