Makaha

Need help. Looking for some input from anyone on the westside.

What are your thoughts on the Makaha Valley Towers and the Makaha Valley Plantation?

I’ve seen a few 2BR apartments listed that look to good to be true.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The towers are nice, I used to live there…its really quiet but its mostly older retired people that live there. So if you like loud music or have loud friends then its not for you.

The plantation isnt quite as nice and its hot if you live on the top floor since the buildings arent insulated add to that your neighbors can hear everything your doing…seems to have alot of domestic disturbances there but it depends on what section you live in.

if you’re gonna live there and STAY there no probs…

otherwise it’s one hell of a drive in and out if you work in town.

worse than driving to the northshore and back

good retirement idea.

makaha is god’s little acre

J.Troy and Oneula, thank you both very much. That helped.

Here’s another: Mokuleia Sands near Puuiki Beach in Waialua

Last one I promise …

This IS a surfboard forum afterall.

Just about anywhere on the North shore is nice…I mean really its the north shore…minutes away from some of the most famous spots in the world.

Makaha if you want to become part of a unique Hawaiian community, there’s no other place like it on Oahu. But it’s isolated…

Mokuleia if you want more of a balance

between country and city folk.

Between Cali and Hawaii

A little more crime and drugs and definitely more transients in the community than the westside.

But the surfing options at your beckoning call will make you forget about most of it.

Easier drive to town with two ways in and out and a little more diversified shopping and scenic sites to play around in all year long.

Soon to get very expensive although most people refuse to believe it today.

Keep country country is the failed dream

as alot of the new residents are of the well to do… (the gentrification of the northshore)

get in now and you too can soon be one of those also chanting to keep country country

while those born there get pushed out to the beach tents of waianae or past mokuleia.

sorry for the extra social commentary…

just a hawaiian twitch I have every now and then
