makita 1100planer

Just picked 1 up for 50bucks 13 or so pounds and reminds me of the skil 100 in looks not all metal but a good portion is , its 6.8 amps and the handle is perfect …simlar to the big hatachi to just womdering if any1 had any expirience with one and did they like it sorry no pix

I bought one of those back in 77’. Would have gone with a Skil but it was too pricey back then. I’ve shaped a bunch of surf and windsurf board with it since then. Has plenty of power. I’m a fan of most of the Japanese made Makita tools I’ve used over the years.

I talked to the Clark planer guy a while back about modifying the depth adjustment. I think one of the Clark screw thingys that is in their planer could be adapted fairly easily but he did not want to do it or sell me one.

hey glen good to hear still running all these years huh…?the bearing cover in the picture (black) was that always there mine has no access
