I’d guess it has some value, perhaps substantial. If you’re in Australia, Mick Mock has a shop at Palm Beach and he would have a good idea of the value. Oh and anyone want to put a price on a mint condition Michael Peterson from 1974?
That is true to the old MR twinnie, but it looks like one that came from Berni over in Daytona Beach Fla Maddog surf shop. Also Maddog in Australia had the license to do them back then, you can contact them by E mail. Unless MR or Geoff Mccoy shaped it, I doubt it has any huge value considering the condition. I would just keep it and enjoy it as being part of a magical time in surfing.
Alot of people don’t know MR was a Mccoy pupil and road Mccoys before going and shaping his own boards. His father and Geoff knew each other. Boy how small the world really is. Especially within our surfing community.
Nice Board- Esoterics aside, it probably does have some value as a collectible- If you want to sell it- Its hard to beat ebay- If your willing to box and ship it, that will open the door to bidders on all coasts, and you should get a decent price- (key word here is “should”, depending on who is watching the auctions that week.) Late 70s and early 80s Boards are increasing in desireability, as retro riders and to the wall hanging set- Its all good either way- Last but not least- Id Like to see the MP from the 70s!-
