Marko I Foam

Who has used this product?

I have some updates here...

Is it presently available for purchase?

Apparently... but not all blanks in catalogue are available at this point.

How does it shape?

Shapeable with sharp tools and abrasives...

Density?

1.9 or 2.1 PCF

Price?

Not sure yet

I couldn't find much if anything on sways about this.  Did I miss something?

Waterproof, apparently strong enough to ride sans glass.  Is this the grail or not?

I assume you mean this foam:

I don’t believe you can ride thet without a laminate. I have no idea what material it could be made of, does anyone know?

I think its similer to body board foam but my supplier hasn’t got it yet.

I saw a board over the weekend made from this stuff. It was the lightest board I've ever felt, with 1x4 oz. glass, top and bottom. The shaper said that you must connect fin boxes to the deck somehow for strength. He therefore used FCS, but I guess you could use other means for reinforcing other fin systems.

Ah yes... the glass thing is confusing:  I do understand they are supposed to be glassed, but there is a promo video of machado and burch riding just the blanks out at cardiff... looks like that yard possum stuff.

I emailed marko with some questions of course. The local distributor indicates they can get them.

I'm interested in this stuff. Please post about your progress!

Will do.  It is referred to as INT Foam (i.e. softboard co) in some contexts and appears to represent a marko/INT joint venture perhaps?

Some sort of shapeable EPP blend, I guess?

Not alot of info in the public domain yet that I can discern.

saw it at the sacred craft show, i think the marko rep said it must be done on a machine because it does not hand shape well. the raw blank looked just like my boogie board core.
