They have one of their stores just down the street from me. They are one of the nicest, most helpful companies that I have dealt with. I highly recommend buying from them.
I was just getting ready to buy their 4 mm roll for bagging. Do you think the 2 mm roll would be better?
Yes, I’d get the 2 mil. ACP sells 2 mil in their complete kits and although I don’t get as many pulls from it as from heavier film, the pulls are much better. It clings faster, doesn’t leak unless I puncture or rip it, seals better at the ends, and is easier to pull out from under the edges where the bag wants to suck up along the blank & under the sandwich. The only problems I’ve had with it have been my fault because it rips a little easier.
what size tubes are you using?
I want to be able to do wide thick boards.
How much larger than your board should the bag be?
I’m using 36" but I don’t use a rocker table. Something else I’ll have to figure out when I get there.
I’ve had good luck keeping boards fair & untwisted & preserving the rocker by pulling to about 5" Hg and shutting down the pump for a minute. Then pull the bag into shape, tweak the board if it was twisting (most likely on the first pull - the board has enough structure to resist that on its own on subsequent pulls) listen for leaks, etc. Then turn the pump back on & pull to the full 10-14" Hg.
BTW, the 2 mil bag film seals great with that aluminum foil tape. Especially if you can get the tape on both the inside & outside of the hole. http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_6403.asp
I’ve also been wondering what size bag to get so I made a cross section of a 25" wide 4" thick tandem I’m starting to build and It looks like it will fit in a 30" wide bag.

I’m just finishing up a mobile shaping/adjustable rocker table/vac pump storage/ tool storage/glass&bag/dust collection stand (I’ve included everything but the kitchen sink). The stand has what I hope will be a good way to make an adjustable rocker table. I’ll post pictures when I’m finished.
