That’s about 18 3/8" x 2 1/8"

Figure that 1/4" is = .25" and go from there. I know that there is a simple mathematical rule to turn decimals into fractions, but I just don’t remember it right now. …maybe a little Google or Wikipedia search is in order.

18 3/8 = 18.375

2 1/8 = 2.125

Take the top number of a fraction and divide it by the bottom number. That will give you a number with a decimel.

I only started to see these numbers when shapers started using cnc machines to make their boards.

I cant stand it when I see this mix of systems on the bottom of boards, if you are going to start dividing inches by tens why not just use the bloody decimal system and be done with it!

For some reason this really upsets me and I dont know why.

Precisely how i feel ! use one or the other, but using decimal into imperial convert is retarded! here is what it looks like
