Measuring length

Is it better to measure the length from the top or bottom before cutting out plane shape ? Aloha , Cal

This has been a much discussed topic. Check archives.

Cal, if you go to your old geometry book, you will find the description of length, “length is the SHORTEST distance between two points” As the former competion director of the most winning USSF district in the US, I had to send many a competitor to the showers when their longboard that was shaped/measured from the bottom, came up about 3/4" to 1-1/4" short of the minimum 9’0". Also, John Rothrock, NSSA director, measured kneeboards(6’0" max) from the bottom to disqualify the eastern competitors for having boards too long. A hack saw solved that problem real fast

some measure from the top/back,some measure from the a-hole(cheating)
