Wow, that thing is crazy. I was just kinda intimidated bein nowhere near as experienced as you guys. I ran out of glass and had to order some from a (non surf specific) shop here in Germany. The cloth that came closest to regular 6oz was a twill weave that was way tighter knit than “our” cloth. I was worried that it wouldn’t out as nicely and thought about laminating the two layers separately, but just went ahaead, paid much attention to cutting the cloth and glassed. Went alright, but took a bit more resin than I needed the last couple times. Makes kinda sense. However, there were many bubbles, huge ones. First, I pushed them out with my hands, when smaller ones appeard I grabbed a needle and pushed holes in some.
I was able to get them all out (except small ones at nose and tail, but I also get those every once in a while with regular cloth), but in case I use that cloth again, I’ll definately laminte them in 2 steps and not together. This was the first time I got probels during the lamination and I didn’t like the feeling one bit when I saw those bubbles appear.
I’ll do the coat tonight and sand it tomorrow. Pics to follow.
