mini gun design?

So I live in Monterey Bay, where surf can get big during the winter months.

I am shaping a board right now for a trip in July to Bali, and I am contemplating whether to make this 7.0 minigun a tri or quad fin board.

I know the advantages and disagvantages to both but I really dont know what it will do to the flow of the board when I ride it if I do make it a 4 finned board.

anyone got a suggestion?

yep qauds are finnicky things in sizey ledgy waves

unless youve got a guy who knows where to put them and what size and foil

stick with tried and true

Marked out a board today for a guy going to lombok. 7;2x 20 x 2&3/4 double concave spiral vee. pintail

I had this 6’6" step-up made for Bali but it wasn’t finished in time so I took a 6’9" which I found a bit too long. The smaller board would have been better, 6’6" x 18 3/4" x 2 1/2".

BW - check this article by Murray Bourton about quad guns - he’s got a screensot of an APS file you can borrow dims from if you’re intrested. You can get the fin placements from the MacKee site.
