What would be the minimum board thickness that would lead to a board that would be efficient for nose riding. I have a 9’4" that is 2 7/8" thick. Al

I believe that the most important part is the weight, and the flattness, next comes the tail, then the bottom, then the rails. The bottom should not be flat, but should have belly all the way through, the rails should be soft, 50/50, with maybe a little egg, the tail should be kicked. Look at one of the best nose riders that there ever was. Lance Carson. Look at his boards that he makes today. His board will give you the best change that you have to get to the nose, and still have a board that you can ride every day. The rest is up to you. I can get to the nose on one of his Classic 60’s board and I’m 230lbs, and I’m talking about not just a five, for a ns and burn, but a real nose ride. http://lancecarson.com
