Still nursing a broken arm, but waiting to finish my 6’4" nugget copy with Hanalei Wing, quad fin setup.
I’m Selling a shitload of boards to pay for the boat I just bought on my Visa card. The Pavel fish is going this week, but I can’t face giving up the 6’2" Mccoy.
The only time I’ve been to the beach in the past few months was last week with a camera to capture our Big Wednesday moment, relatively speaking.

All right mate,
Been a long while since I checked in. The computer is still packed in its box, hopefully get it set up soon.
Been surfing a few time over the winter and I’m down again this weekend but its been bloody cold, just starting to warm up now, so yer pretty much hibernating and trying to keeping warm.
Haven’t done much board work, even repairs, for a number of reasons. Been spending most my time decorating and building furniture for the new house.
Good news is I’ve got a new garage to work in, bad news is its currently full of junk that need to be cleared out. Old sofa and broken tv, that sort of thing.
Its not attached to the house and doesn’t have power, might be able to get an extension lead down there but it will have to cross over the road, although this just leads to the garages on the other side and very quite (I’ve never actually seen anyone use it) I’m thinking could be hazardous, so still scratching my head over that one. I may get away with a cable cover???
May have to resort to shaping/sanding in the back yard!! But then there’s the Great British weather and the neighbours to contend with.
Haven’t actually surfed your quads yet, want to make a new fish to take em as I can’t bring myself to retro-fit the widow maker I made last year, maybe once I’ve surfed it a bit more and it has a few more dents. I did have a dumpster dive fish I was going to do up but never got round to it and left it in my old workshop along with some heavy shaping stands. Still need to buy expensive transformer to use the skil I bought : (
Also I’ve been really strapped for spare cash for materials so I’m thinking probably spend my time this year setting up a workshop area and figuring out the power situation, its especially frustrating as I was given a second hand and extraction unit.
Think I’ll make some fins or skate board decks to keep me going while I get set things up.

Well every cloud has a sliver lining, on the up side its actually freed up my time to go surfing more, so I'm quite happy.
While I'm sorting things out and trying to save some bucks for the next board I'm sure I'll get the chance to get creative.
Last year I branched out a bit and did a range of projects that I though would be fun to try but also thought would broaden my skills/techniques to being back to board construction, and if it all goes wrong no great loss you've not ruined a whole board.
for instance I spent some time doing custom paint jobs on guitars and picked up some interesting techniques that could someday be applied to a full board. stuff like that.
So I can happliy stick to making fins, decks, doing art work and making stuff from drift wood etc, any sort of creative projects to keep me going, so even once the house is sorted I'll be plenty busy.
Please excuse me if this has already been brought up but…where in the world is Hicksy?

well, i'm not really sure what happened to 'hicksy' , it's been about a year since he was on here , i've noticed . he IS on 'facebook' , though , i see ... "muzza" from here lives fairly near him , he is probably the person who has seen grant most recently , out of any of us ....
