MOTE / Singlefin Yellow Nat, and Beau Youngs magic board

Lots of info on here I guess on the various MOTE boards. Beau Young talks about a recreation of his fathers board from MOTE that he likes very much, so does anyone know the dims on this magic board? I’m curious.

I have a 7’3" Clark blank, and I’d like to put it to good use

Hi,

I think that board would have been made at north coast surfboards in Byron Bay - they do bear, MOTE and takayama’s.

Paul Hutchinson may have shaped it.

You may wish to send them an email via their website.

Great looking flatter rockered single fin. I’d be interested in the dimensions myself!

Matt

Yeah, I shot them an email asking if they wouldn’t mind giving up some dimensions. I have had this clark blank kicking around for a few months that i picked up at a garage sale, I’m excited to finally know what I want to do with it!

Maybe he’ll be nice enough to let me in on those magic number, i’ll keep ya posted

Okay so I wrote the mote surfboards guys and asked for dims and here’s what I got to work with from them:

6’x20"x3" nice rolled deck so rails arer’nt piggy. Nose is 16" and tail about 15" wide point forward a couple of inches.

And the dims I found from searching swaylocks are more like

Length: 6’ 2 3/8" (1888)

Width: 22 15/16" (582)

Thickness: 3 " (77)

Tail: 16 1/8"

Nose: 15 5/8"

So, with my size I need to hit a 6’6" or 6’8" model of this board. Would really appreciate some feedback on this to help me get the dims dialed in

THANKS!

Will start shaping and posting images asap!

I would have picked that board as bigger than 6’ looking at it. You can definately see the width when he has it on the fence putting the fin in. Looks like a great little board for point surf. The 3" thickness would have plenty of float in it, you can see why they dome it out to the rails.

Let us know how the board turns out.

Mat

any pic’ssss of the beast …

I’d be keen to have a weeeee look
