so , Andi …

all fun designs , all very different , all fairly short boards !

What is your height and weight , if you don’t mind me asking , please ?

and …

are they spray painted , or tinted ?

are you taking them ALL to Bali with you ? Please let us know how they ride , eh ?

…how many boards have you made in total ?

nice work , mate !

cheers

ben

Mate… 4 boards in 2 weeks and your first time!!! you were cranking them out, did you just decide not to sleep for two weeks? I like the look of your fish and your thruster, both look to have nice clean outlines to me. From what I can see in the photos, you’ve nailed the mechanical aspects of shaping and glassing. Very impressive and obviously open to a wide range of ideas. My only question (and I’m not being critical, I just wondered as I looked at it) is that it appears that the tail on the stinger widens right at the end? In terms of water flow, i wondered if the tail might be working against the rest of the outline. anyway, you prob have some theory that i know nothing about

How dose your Yellow fish ride?

G’day Bish ,

Fish nose 15" , tail 17" . Fish tail tip to tip 11" , butt crack deep 4" . Rocker …er no idea . Doesn’t know how to measure em .

Yellow weird looking board , nose 16" , tail 15" . Fish tail tip to tip 12" , butt crack deep 5" .

I wanted to copy the old skool Ben Aipo single fin but without knowing the actual “magic numbers” . What size of single fins do i need for this board ? Wondering if u know the “magic numbers” for the original Ben Aipa single fin ?

Was thinking of making this into a “bonzer” , need to know the two side fins placement n size .

Regards A .

Don know yet , gonna try it this 7th Sept in Bali . … Anyone need “bootleg” surfing dvd ? Is about us$2.00~$3.00 each . . .

…is the guy on the left your team rider ? [And , the scary thing is … he could probably boost , and land , airs on ANY of your boards !]

If this can be of any help to you, here are a few shots of a very similar stinger that was shaped by french shaper Baptiste DUPOUEY under the Lightning Bolt label back in the days. The board is in very good condition and belongs to one of my friends:

As you may notice on that last shot, three concave/channels are found on the bottom: one under the entry point and one under each wings. I think that this configuration had been initiated by Dick BREWER at the time. Maybe Bill THRAILKILL could

confirm that?

G’day Ben ,

I’m 1.74 x 65 kg , i like my board fat n easy paddle … i’ve made total 6 boards in 2 weeks but the other two was way too heavy n ugly when i try to make the asid splash , couldn’t get e color pigment . Using diff color resin n ended up a 6’0" weight like a long board …hahaaaaa . I have throw the two boards away . …

You rakon the “orange egg” will be fun to surf if is a single fin ?

Was thinkin of making a 4 fins QUAD , is is possible to use FCS G5 n G3 or any FCS fins ? I don know how to fix lockbox fin plug n don have the spare cash for us$99.00 fins .

All boards done with spray job , am gonna bring the white fish n yellow single fin to Bali with me (wat single fin size shd i get ? ) Can order made a fin from Bali at bout us$25~30.00 .You need anything from Bali ? They have good selection of surfing dvd .

With respect , A .
