I am in a daze on what board I should get. I want to duplacte my stew sharpe board but I dont trust anyone to do concave like him and I can’t get him to shape it beacuse it’s going to be my team board I really need help. I would really love it if someone could help me. I don’t care about fufu color it’s not me. aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh help me someone… I’m 5’5" 135 lbs. and I know I want a shortboard.
I’d just get any old board with some FuFu colors, it’s not about how it rides, it’s how you look.
If it’s a team board, shouldn’t you be talking to your shaper about this one?
Wow. I know! Take your stew sharpe board and paste your “team” stickers over the shapers logos on the board. Then you’ll be saving that extra money and still have the board you like… I mean If you can’t trust your “team” shaper… than who can you trust right? geez… -Carl
Maybe it is because I live way up here in Oregon, but what is a team? Do you guys surf in teams? I’m so used to surfing by myself or just a couple guys. Teams?
I would but I met with him on Saturday and I just got on the team so he hasn’t seen how I surf. Yeah I just want to look good in the water anyways I guess that I should get a 5’12" with bright purple and pink flowers… that way when I come to your town and throw chunks in your face you’ll know who I am.
yes, generally experienced surfers do it it teams. It’s only because you are so far from the mainstream surf areas that you don’t know this. typically on your average 9 foot to eleven foot group or “long” board there will be three team members. 1. a paddler, responsible for propelling the board forwards and backwards. 2. the steersman, directs the board on where it should go. Also provides snacks. 3. chunk spitter, like Crystal the most forward member of the team, obviously whose duties include spitting chunks on opposing team members or “kooks”. team members want their team stickers to be visible at all times so that the judges who watch the competition from helicopters can score them properly.
I laughed so hard when I read this I almost blew chunks.
For a guy your size, I don’t think a 5’12" would really work for you. Try a 6’0 you might like it better.
HAHAHAHAH wow im LMAO , the steersman, CLASSIC!
A 5’12 is the same thing as a 6’0. Come on
Lighten up Billy, this is about the fifth time that I checked this thread and I’m still laughing. Best thing I’ve heard all day.
Dudes! That chic doing the chunks thing on a 5-12 makes me wanna be a team member. How bout adding a “main-sail” on the rig and add more “surfers” on the board - a new twist to “party waves”. PS: I’vbe got all three in my quiver - a 5’ 12", a 6’, and a 72incher! All depends on the waves and the mood.
ya, but do you have a “traditional” 5’12"??? your quiver ain’t complete!
Oh what a sweet way to start the day. I laughed so hard I spit all over my monitor, and had to try an explain what was so funny to my students. tO
The totally coolest teacher: one with a PC in classroom logged on Swaylocks!!
What was YOUR teacher like???
My Taceher Dind’t taech me to raed or use a rluer vrey whel and i cnat see why no one kowns why poelpe cnat udnretsand me. My lsat barod was fvie tewvle. And it rdoe geart. My baord bferoe taht was an 84 er and it was to lnog but now my cool sitkcres dnot fit on my 5’12" taths why i wnaetd erveynoes hlep why msut you be so maen.
I’m sure someone could copy STU’s shape. Crystal C? Who are you riding for these days? From word of mouth I understand why you dont ride for Roy/OSW (where Stu shapes for those not from our area). He does make a good board though. A little prone to excess experimentation with his team riders though…
