This is the first thing I have posted on Swaylock’s. I have only used this as a resource but now its time to share. This is the second board I shaped the first was moderately successful but I wanted to try something completely different so I went with an alaia. I made plenty of mistakes but heres a photo and a link to video I did while shaping it.

good on you for posting a video , and attempting an alaia for your second time shaping ...
one thing i couldn't help but notice ....
those ...er ... "shaping stands" seem to be moving a little there , acu ....
perhaps it might might be a bit easier shaping on something more solid ? [ i used an ironing board a few times in the past , but probably needed to make decent stands , really ! ]
[there's a thread here showing some , called maybe ? "show us your shaping stands" ?? i think ...]
i reckon it could make all the difference to your shaping .

I only used that these stands when I went to apply the linseed oil. I did have some trouble with another homemade stand when i started though. It worked great for my first board but was no where near sturdy enough for my alaia I ended up shaping it on something just adequate but I should invest some time in some solid stands now that I’m not doing anything.
