My first attempt at a Board.

Here are some pics of my first board.

Special thanks to my girls for decorating it for me.

Special thanks to John Cherry, “The Fin Man!!”

Special thanks to Haze Surfboards for letting me glass it in the Heated Shaping Room.

A nice clean wave is one of the few things in this life that even comes close to the feeling of getting an “I love you dad” from your kids

I think you’ll have both at once with that board. Nice job!

Do you REALLY wear a hat like that?

Kidding. Nice first board. I bet you have plans for the next one, already, right?

I do have plans for my next board as you guessed, and don’t know where the omish hat came from.

I wouldn’t be get hung up on the hat–it’s the square head, missing neck, and uneven leg lengths that would have me concerned. Actually, now that I think of it, there could be surfing benefits to all three…

Great looking first board. That thing’s got soul!

Nice.

What kind of pens did the girls use?

Nice looking board! So what’s the purpose of the channel, the back of the board almost has a wakeboard shape to it. I’m not quite up on all the different channels, concaves and such.

Very Nice! It’s hard to look at the artwork without smiling… and after a long life as a surf vehicle, you have the makings of the mother of all refrigerator magnets!

Enjoy

The Markers are Sharpie water based poster Markers. Got them at an art supply store.

The channels on the bottom are supposed to increase lift and speed.

Nice I love the bottom of the board

If you ever go into professional shaping, you have the perfect board to retire and hang above the door, that bottom artwork is priceless.
