They look good. Just like mine. I even used the orange homer buckets too.

I am going to make a 5’11" twinzer with a bat tail.
I have one that I got from mandalla and I love it, it was shaped by jobson, so I figured I would try and make a very similar
board.
I outlined the epoxy blank with pencil tonight, took like two hours, what a pain.
I have to take about 2 inches off of the sides to get it to the width that I want, was going to use either a jigsaw or a hand saw any recommendations?
Then its on to shaping, got a kit from foam e-z, hand planer kit. Never done this before so I am excited and nervous.
Also got the new epoxy 101 video, doesn’t help much, he uses a electric planer which I don’t have, and he doesn’t really explain what he is doing. You just kind of watch him doing it.

Use whatever you already have, but if you use a jigsaw you’ll probably need to buy the extra long blades. The standard size isn’t quite long enough for most blanks.
very nice. need to make a set like that one day soon.
Thanks for the heads up on that, I will go to the Home Depot on my way home to pickup the extra long blades, I am going to get a fine toothed blade.
The JC shaping 101 video is good for a first board. Did you outline your template onto a piece of wood or masonite before transfering to the blank? I’m a little confused on that step. I normally use a hand saw for polyurethane and jig saw for eps. Use the tool you are most comfortable with. You want the saw blade to be vertical and cut the template from the bottom of the blank. Mike
I outlined 1/2 of the board onto a piece of 30lb roofing felt, then cut the felt with a scissor and traced it onto the blank.
By the way the buckets are filled with concrete, very heavy, dont use as much as I did (50 lb bag per bucket)

So, what is the optimal amount of cement to use per bucket? I’m going be making one myself soon.
Don’t forget this is the season for Home Depot Christmas tree stands on sale for Cheap.
I don’t know what optimal weight is, but I filled mine to within 3 inches of the top with sand and that works for me. They’re not supposed to be light. Problem with x-mas tree stand is that you’ll constantly be tripping over the support legs. And that can be a problem when you’re holding a whirling blade next to your $80 blank.
