My review of a 6'6 Firewire

I’d like to cheer them into the forefront but hesitate, scratching my head wondering who, what, where, when, how. I speculate why.

If feelings mean anything, there was too much up front, way too much for my appetite. The greatest, coming soon, after christmas…

I took it back to Sunset round 11. It had dropped a lot, probably 6 - 7 ft on the sets and 5 for regular waves, the W wind had picked up a bit as well.

‘W’ … west wind??

yad think they have firgured it out after a few thousand

make em thin

Honest, but not very informative wrt Firewire performance. Lets be a little more realistic, DOH juice on any board not made for you or the conditions is a disaster.

The production sloppiness would be more alarming to me than the ride review.

Christian

I know the OP and even showed up little bit later. He is a good surfer that has paddled out on smaller boards in similar conditions. The firewire dims wise should have worked for him. The concave was a bit extreme though. Especially for a beast of a wave like Sunset. Belly or Vee would have been better.

I really wanted to jump on the board. Any of you FW owners done that?

I talked to drewtang at his shop and he is all in on the EPS epoxy parabolic stringer stuff. He said the thickest boards he is making now are about 2 inches. THICKEST. Oh and Drew has some really nice shapes if they were available in my area I would buy one.

Oh Come On! Let’s get honest and quit making excuses for “Popped out one size fits all” crappers.
